New and Updated Toy Safety Standards have just been Published in Taiwan

The following toy safety standards have just been published or amended by the BSMI (Bureau of Standards, Metrology & Inspection (經濟部標準檢驗局) of Taiwan. These standards are issued by the competent authority in accordance with the provisions of the Standards Law, approved by the National Review Committee.

 

CNS 4797 Series

As described in the standards, many international/regional references were made in drafting these Taiwanese standards.

Amongst them, the following European Norms are those with strong influence:

  • EN 71-3: Safety of Toys - Part 3: Migration of Certain Elements
  • EN 71-4: Experimental Sets for Chemistry and Related Activities
  • EN 71-7: Finger Paints

 

CNS 14276

This updated standard, replacing CNS 14276:1998, is based on the second edition of IEC 62115:2017 without any technical alterations when it is formulated as a national standard of the ROC.
